Welcome to plateful flavors! My name is Sonja, and I am a Belgian housewife, living in Luxembourg together with my husband and our two teenage boys.
I hope that through my blog, I can inspire you, my readers, to incorporate more vegetables in your daily meals. I want to show you that homecooked meals can be healthy and look pretty at the same time, so you will often find serving suggestions.
I am passionate about cooking and trying out new recipes which I find in magazines, cookbooks and on other blogs. I try them out , but not without making some changes so I can tailor them to fit my taste more, to make them a bit different. Cooking is a way for me to channel away the stress of the daily life in a tiny village without family and friends. I find it really calming and relaxing, except when having to cook for a large group of people of course.
I love creating healthy and nutritious meals with seasonal produce. I really love salads in all colors and flavors, and always make huge bowls of them. That’s what inspired me to call my blog “plateful flavors”. I am not a vegetarian, and can really appreciate good quality meat, but it is not a must. However, I absolutely love vegetables. I always get super happy from the many different colors and the endless ways to combine and serve them. Like most people, of course I also have some guilty pleasures, and mine are craft beers and gin-tonic.
I hope you find my blog inviting, fun and full of deliciously addictive recipes and photography, although I am far from being a skilled (food) photographer.
